Dear Colleagues and Handtherapists,

It is a great pleasure and honour for me, as the Congress President of the 24th Scandinavian Hand Society Meeting, to invite you to Copenhagen for the 2012 Meeting. The topics for the 24th Scandinavian Hand Society Meeting have been well selected in order to guarantee interesting and stimulating learning and discussions encompassing hand surgery and hand therapy.

The Congress will have a wide focus on finger and distal radius fractures, nerves, rehabilitation, Rheumatoid surgery, pain problems and joint replacement. The program will be comprised by a mix of high level presentations from invited guest speakers, smaller workshop session for immersion in everyday clinical issues and oral and poster presentations of original research.

It is an honour to have Professor Pak Cheong Ho, from Hong Kong as the Moberg Speaker, speaking on Arthroscopic Surgery of the Wrist and Hands: How far we can go? The Organizing Committee will make every effort to ensure, that this meeting will be successful and fruitful in all aspects from the scientific to the social program. Furthermore an industrial exhibition will provide you with the newest information on products for hand surgery and orthopaedic devices as well as products for hand therapy.

Copenhagen is considered to be one of the loveliest tourist attractions in Scandinavia, combining history and modern life together. The city is vibrant and full of personality, history and hospitality. The congress venue itself is situated at the Panum Institute not far from the centre of Copenhagen, so one can enjoy a great combination of work, networking and relaxation.
